PAINE/WETZEL TCN WORLDWIDE AND CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD RELOCATE CHICAGO COMPANY’S HEADQUARTER MANUFACTURING FACILITY TO ROMEOVILLE, IL

Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide is pleased to announce that the team of Jeff Girling and Terry Lynch of the firm along with Brad Weiner and Whit Heitman of Cushman & Wakefield represented Magid Glove & Safety Products, Inc. in the purchase of a 703,973 SF industrial facility on 35 acres at 1300 Naperville Drive in Romeoville, that will consolidate its two Chicago plants into one larger modern HQ, MFG and distribution facility. Cushman & Wakefield’s Jason West and Sean Henrick represented the seller, Venture One Real Estate.

Magid Glove & Safety is America’s leading manufacturer, importer, distributor and direct supplier of hand protection, protective clothing, first aid, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Headquartered in Chicago, IL, Magid Glove & Safety Products purchased the Romeoville property, after searching the market from SE Wisconsin south to the I-55 corridor. This 24 month search targeted facilities that would not only meet Magid’s current needs but also accommodate their aggressive growth plans.

Magid will move inventory, manufacturing and over 400 employees from two facilities including their main location at 4500 W. Armitage in Chicago. Located less than a mile from the four-way interchange at I-55 and Route 53 with close proximity to I-355 and I-80, the new property offers easy access to the expressway. The building was built in 1980 with an addition completed in 1993 and features 100,000 SF of office, a partially air-conditioned warehouse, over 250 trailer stalls, 24” ceiling clear heights as well as heavy power. Magid plans to add loading docks, renovate office spaces as well add other necessary infrastructure in order to accommodate its expanding business. Magid plans to initially occupy+/-450,000 SF of the property and offer +/- 250,000 SF available for lease.
